The NSA: "A Picture of You"

I read in the New York Times Sunday that the NSA is going online with a website called "A Picture of You". It's a site sort of like Photoshop-meets-Facebook: you type in your name, or SS# or phone number, birthday or a key word spoken in any of your many conversations and up pops a "picture of you" --- an intelligence-driven data-image information packet of your complete history and a summary of who you are and what, if anything, you may or may not be likely to do with the rest of your life. The New York Times cooperated, as usual, with the NSA and is the Agency's biggest supporter. The IT department of the Times was helpful in putting a positive spin on something that could have a negative impact on civil liberties.

No Place To Hide (book review published by Amazon)

Amazon published a book review I wrote.
This review is from: No Place to Hide: Edward Snowden, the NSA, and the U.S. Surveillance State (Hardcover)

If you're interested in the subject of warrantless surveillance, big data collection by secret government intelligence agencies, the three-letter groups (for example FBI, CIA, NSA); and if you're interested in the legal minefields where whistleblowers, journalists, hackers, leakers and publishers find themselves everyday risking their lives, their careers and their freedom for principles and maybe "moral imperatives"; and if you only have time to read one book on all these subjects: this book by Glenn Greenwald, "No Place to Hide" -- is the one for you! The last chapter, "The Fourth Estate" is worth the cost of the book all by itself. It is a brilliant, insightful analysis of the media, the relationship between media and government aiding and abetting a propaganda machine that would make even Goebbels flush with envy. This book takes the reader behind the scenes, before Edward Snowden turned over documents to the Guardian newspaper, leading up to the meetings with Snowden, to publishing the materials and then through the subsequent smear campaign and personal attacks Greenwald received from fellow colleagues, fellow “journalists” that came immediately afterwards. I recommend this book to anyone interested in secrecy, the government and threats to civil liberties; you need this one in your collection.

A Brave New Camera

I predict a time will come in the not-too-distant future when digital cameras will be programmable with custom algorithms that will instruct the shutter to open and close based on input data, taking away the need for a human "cameraman" or "photographer". Not only will the camera auto-focus, and do everything else that it already does now and more, but it will decide when, where and what to photograph without any input from a real person. There will be no need for a human to make individual decisions about the process of taking pictures: the "modern" photog will be a programmer and writer of code first and foremost, and will be a photographer only as a footnote. By this method, algorithms will instruct the camera mechanism pertaining to the demand for specific images, and will collaborate with machines world-wide to fully function much similar to high speed trading on Wall Street, only the "buy and sell" orders will be about the images being produced and distributed throughout the world at lightning speed. A programmer will use algorithms to instruct the mechanism to seek out and capture specific subjects and this will be done at multiple locations simultaneously. All the completed work will have the signature of the programmer, enabling the programmer to be in more than one place at a time. The cameras will produce hundreds of images per second increasing the probability of getting the right photo for the right "trade". Gallery's will be a thing of the past, an anomaly in the creative process.

The state giveth, and the state taketh away.

Attempting to protect racial/socio-religious groups from “offensive”, “insensitive” speech, we’ve become a society that is more racist and insensitive than ever. Like corrupted computer code, we have reverse-engineered affirmative action and the First Amendment and applied them in the opposite way than originally intended. “Racism”, now, is a catch-all term for anything unpleasant that upsets people, like a Trojan Horse or malware: “Don't talk about Blacks. Don't talk about Jews. Don't talk about Christians. Don't talk about Mexicans. Don’t talk about scary, white, bald-headed tattooed men. Don't talk about minorities…." We may think we have a right to an opinion, but the right to express it stops at the color of someone's skin or at the doors of a “house of worship”. The First Amendment gave us the right to an opinion, but we’re not entitled to it: the state gave it to us and the state has taken it away. [Of course, any expression of an opinion is under surveillance by the NSA, so at least someone gets to hear it.]

NSA prophesied in the bible! Mt. 25:35-45

Here it is. The NSA and its Messianic Mission of Collection was prophesied in the bible! In this story, Jesus is talking, but he’s actually the Prophesy of Surveillance, not the son of god. All this talk about being “hungry”, “thirsty”, “naked”, “sick”….those are code words for being entitled to know everything that’s going on. The people who gave up their privacy to the great Surveillance God are given a reward: “If you’re doing nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear.” But for those people who resist, who insist on privacy, those people go to hell, or prison, or are on a no-fly list, or they are watched even more closely than ever. Here it is in black and white, courtesy of the bible:

(Matthew 25:35-45) “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.” Then the righteous will answer him, saying, “Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?” And the King will answer them, “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” [In other words, if you did it then the NSA knows about it, and that’s the way it should be.]

Then he will say to those on his left, “Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.” Then they also will answer, saying, “Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?” Then he will answer them, saying, “Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.” [In other words, if you did it and tried to hide it or keep it private, the NSA knows about it and they’re not happy, not happy one bit, or in terms of data collecting: they’re not happy one binary digit.]

Corruption Moves the World!

The more I read and think about what I read, the more convinced I am that governments of the world are not divided and opposed to each other by political or economic considerations (like we've been told), but they are, in fact, UNITED by international corruption and practices of wide-spread and accepted state corruption, including: fraud, extortion, larceny, bribery, massive incarceration of whole populations, institutionalized rape, money laundering, war profiteering, religious fundamentalism, drug and human trafficking, deceit, kidnapping, counterfeiting, voter suppression, torture, banking and investment crimes, corporate white-collar crime, political crimes and all manner of corrupt activities that we associate with organized crime. Governments are the very DEFINITION of "organized crime". Political parties, state surveillance, bureaucracies.....all of it! Corruption is what moves the world.

Rhio9's Astrology Now (May 4, 2014) "The Sun May Be In Taurus, but My Heart's In Tennessee!"

Don’t be so quick to make up your mind; it’s likely to be stressful and hard to change. You’ll be liked by a co-worker or a Facebook friend for about 10 weeks, but the clock of betrayal is ticking and time won’t turn back for you or anyone else. But even still: “time” is not your enemy. It’s OK to experiment with Miss Lucky Numbers, because when she opens up and accepts you there’ll be something dripping from her juicy wet lips. Whoops, sorry: there’s a negative side, too. You might think you’re capable of enforcing a moral code to control your friends and enemies -- but you’ld be wrong. If you’re not careful (or maybe even if you are), you could witness the disillusion of your own self-interests. You may even be persuaded that boredom overcomes curiosity, only for it to kill curiosity by hanging it from the ceiling by a rope! There’s no humor in that. No one will be laughing. There’s no amusement there. So be resolved to learn to navigate the Ship of Love floating in the river of the muddy heart. Don’t worry, you won’t need directions. The world will serve you better in June (when the sun goes into Gemini) than in May. In the meantime, trust someone else and “REPEAT”.
