Appearance is something we can see. An apparition is something only imagination can see. In government (or politics….they’re identical), we should be able to see through something that’s transparent; but we can’t. Why not? Because transparency is a phantom of technology. Technology creates meaning through its use. Governments are invented to impose order on its use -- to regulate, tax, divide, separate, isolate, control and to define and diffuse resistance. The quality of life is diluted by technology and order. Through misdirection, governments create appearances; transparency is an illusion based on the holy trinity of capitalist consumerism: Politics. Corporations. Government.
