Haiku

After listening to The Trial on TV this morning I was irritable and pissed off. My mind was spiked with an overdose of bias and self-preservation. Instead of having a mild interest in the case (something like chipping, my addiction being enabled by 24-hour cable-news), I became a stake-holder with an investment as my own production of Law and Order played itself out in a Florida courtroom. I had enough! I shut off the TV, took a few deep breaths, sat still and wrote a haiku:

I became aware
of breathing and my heart beat.
All is quiet now.
